Description |
This woodcut or linocut shows the mostly white engine of a train from the top. White, angular clouds flow out of a hole in the engine's roof and drift off to the right. The train is at the bottom center and appears to follow its track up and into the print by perspective to a black house set at the top center. The house is flanked by mounds of some sort (perhaps trees or boulders or mountains). These mounds and the house cast a jagged, mostly black shadow all across the center of the composition. The small amount of sky seen above the mounds and the house is black with white horizantal stripes. The print is back and white only. |
