Description |
A broad, shallow basket of birch bark with a woven rim. The basket is made from a solid piece of bark that that been cut in four places, shaped, and the sewn into a bowl shape using undyed spruce root fiber. The rim of the basket is reinforced with two rows of running stitches, and then decorated with two courses of spruce root fiber that has been dyed (red, blue, green, and yellow) and woven in a repeating pattern. |
