Description |
A very large, freestanding, abstract, vertical sculpture of carved alder wood. It has a "solid" look. The sculpture has been bolted together with long bolts. The piece is a deep red-brown color with sanded areas that are golden-brown color. The surface of the sculpture is glossy and smooth. There are two vertical, square "towers" protruding from the top of the piece. Notches have been carved into the front and back of the sculpture. The sculpture may originally have been two large pieces of wood that fit together but had split; the artist may then have bolted them back together. There are solid, horizontal braces inside the hollow central cavities of the sculpture to support it and hold it together. |
