Description |
Circular oil well with protruding nozzle, flanked by two volute curls. Fill-hole is off-center of concave discus with modeled image of gladiator in low relief; fill hole is between gladiator’s legs. He leans forward, holding shield in left hand and spear in right, levelled in front. Wears a plumed helmet. Small incised rim around discus. Shoulders are undecorated. Heavily worn and soil encrusted, blackened around nozzle. |
